History and culture as attractions and sightseeing

The baltic lagoons offer more than 1000 years of history. Many people left evidences of their living. This heritages is offered by a wide variety of museums, exhibitions, buildings and events that lively and descriptively tell the history of these regions.

Fishery was the main income possibility of people lived by the lagoons for centuries. Today the small villages display the atmosphere of fishing and rural livehood: colourful wooden houses, fishing nets to be dried in the sun and small fishing boats floating at the lagoons.

Old man-made canals and navigationsystems are situated around the lagoons. After long time not beeing used they are offering a pristine and mysteriously nature to be explored by canoue or bicycle. Traditional ships invite you to sail across the lagoons.
