Pilgrimage from the Baltic Sea to Santiago

There are a number of historical pilgrimages which lead from the Baltic region to Santiago de Compostela. Today it is tried to revive the tradition of pilgrimage in the Northern parts of Europe and therefore, for example, the Baltic-Westfelic, the Jutland, the Holstein-Westfelic or the Mecklenburg-Magdeburg pilgrimage have been established and are constantly expanded.

European Route of Brick Gothic

The one who travels on the European Route of Brick Gothic and visits the medieval inner cities and villages cannot only admire impressive historical buildings but also feel the ever present influence of the Hanseatic League. The route connects the manifold cultures of seven countries which have their origins in the common history full of tradition.

Baltic Amber Road

The tourist route 'The Baltic Amber Road' offers a possibility for tourists and travellers to experience the formation of the amber in Lithuania, Latvia and Kaliningrad region, covering its history, output, processing and jewelry. The road stretches 418 km along the Baltic coast introducing various information and objects of 'The Amber Route', gathered in different countries.

Via Hanza

The Baltic Sea unites the Baltic people who have lived on its shores for many centuries. The routes of Slav merchants, Vikings and pirates would intersect here in ancient times. The Baltic States were strengthening and prospering through the exchange of both goods and cultural heritage. HANZA was the trade and political union of the towns of North Germany, Prussia and Livonia (13th century-1669). In the Middle Ages it had preserved its influence on the Baltic region for centuries.
